3 Simple Ways to Make Exercise a Habit

I think exercise is essential for good health. Until exercise becomes a habit, it may seem overwhelming. I developed a personal exercise routine. I used three techniques to simplify the routine.

There are three simple ways to make exercise a habit –

1. Start Small and Build Gradually

Initially, great success is never attainable. Seeking great success may worsen rather than improve health. With this in mind I start with small and manageable workouts.

Begin with Short Sessions:

Firstly, I started working out with little time. In this case, I did 10 minutes of exercise. After 15 days of following this routine when it felt comfortable, I opted for a 20 minute workout. This is when these short sessions become comfortable for me. I gradually increased my work out sessions.

Choose Enjoyable Activities:

In this case, I did not select the preferred action. I didn’t like push ups. So I chose running. I can swim well. So I include it in my workout. Cycling, dancing are my favorites Because these are my regular parts of daily life.

2. Schedule Your Workouts

Along with other tasks I have made exercise a part of my work. I developed a routine that made me more likely to stick with it. Increased morale towards timely exercise.

Plan Ahead:

I fixed the exercise time. The first week I set a morning exercise time, the second week evening exercise time. Mark it on my calendar. I am not stressed if I miss this workout time. The only other time I rescheduled and completed the work out.

Consistency is Key:

I believe that maintaining an exercise habit is unparalleled. Try to complete tasks at the same time every day. I haven’t put other things into my routine at that particular time. Whether it’s morning, lunch or evening, I’ve found a time that works best for me and gives me the motivation to stick to it.

3. Find a Workout Friend

This may be interesting to many. But I believe a true friend can encourage you or me to do anything. So for my workout I selected my school friend. It gave me the motivation to hold on.

Friendly Competition:

Life without competition is unacceptable. I am inspired by the success of others. This competition with my friend made me work harder. This friendly competition has taught me not to give up. Move towards success easily. Makes me stay committed.

Fun and Enjoyment:

We make every workout enjoyable. Discuss various motivations during exercise. Whenever I felt tired I freshened up today by saying something entertaining. Engaging in conversation, sharing laughs, and exercise began to feel like a chore and enjoyable.

These simple techniques have made exercise a reality in my life. I have created a system to make it enjoyable without looking at the results. Thinking about the results does not always lead to the goal. Thus it has become a part of my daily life.
